Instructor in Accounting
The Department of Business and Economics of the University of Virginia’s College at Wise invites applications for a non-tenure track, faculty Instructor of Accounting. The department is especially seeking candidates who can demonstrate an exceptional commitment to teaching and service.  Background and interest in governmental accounting and/or accounting information systems is preferred.  Salary will be commensurate with experience and qualifications.  The successful candidate will teach and advise undergraduate students with a dedication to student learning;  provide institutional service, and engage in professional growth and development. The department seeks candidates with a Master’s degree in Accounting from a regionally accredited institution. Regardless of the degree, candidates must have a minimum of 18 hours of graduate level accounting in order to be eligible.  A CPA certification is preferred.  Other professional accounting certifications (CPA, CMA, CIA, CFE, etc.) will also be viewed favorably. Professor of Accounting

Assistant Professor of Public History/Museum
Public History/Museum Studies: The University of Virginia’s College at Wise seeks to fill a tenure-track position at the rank of assistant professor in Public History or Museum Studies to begin fall 2019. The successful candidate should possess training and/or experience in Public History or Museum Studies and be able to teach upper-level courses in those and related fields. The successful candidate will administer and seek to expand a growing Public History/Museum internship program and will place and supervise student interns. Experience teaching Western Civilization surveys is required. The successful candidate will also teach upper-level courses in his/her area of expertise, which is open, but the department has a strong preference for someone able to teach courses in the ancient Mediterranean World. Candidate qualifications include a Ph.D. at the time of the appointment, a record or evidence of potential for teaching, scholarship and service, and a strong commitment to liberal arts/humanities. Faculty in Computer Science/Cyber Security/Data Analytics
The University of Virginia’s College at Wise invites applications for a faculty position in the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science/and/or the Business Department to work closely with the Office of Economic Development and Engagement. This is a full-time teaching position. Duties include creating and teaching courses in Computer Science, Cyber Security, and Data Analytics; serving the department and college on various committees; advising students; pursuing ongoing scholarly activity; and assisting with student engagement activities such as summer camps and cyber symposia as well as assisting the Department Chair with assessment and any other duties as needed. Successful candidates must possess excellent verbal and written communication skills; should have experience teaching at the undergraduate level; must have a graduate degree from an accredited institution, and at least 18 hours of graduate work in Computer Science or a related field; should have graduate level work in cyber security (or relevant industry experience); and should have relevant graduate level work in Data Analytics or Management Science (or relevant industry experience).
