General Information

Event Schedule
Commencement will be held at the David J. Prior Convocation Center at 437 Stadium Drive, Wise, Va. Gates will open for family and guest seating at 8:30 a.m.. The ceremony will last approximately 2 hours. Please review the full schedule of events.

Accessibility Services
Graduating students and guests in need of accessible services, including ASL services, should contact the Office of Disability Services at disability@uvawise.edu by Friday, April 26. Accessible seating is available on a first come, first serve basis in the upper mezzanine and on the floor. Ushers will provide direction to designated accessible seating areas.

Bookstore
The UVA Wise Bookstore is open each weekday from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on the first floor of the Slemp Student Center. It will also be open in the Slemp Student Center before the ceremony from 8:00-9:30 a.m. and after from noon-2:00 p.m.  Additionally, the Campus Store in the DJP Convocation Center will be open from 9:00 a.m. to noon.

Event Assistance
Ushers, wearing red vests and/or event lanyards, will be available before, during and after the ceremony if you need assistance or have questions.

Livestream
Commencement will be livestreamed on this website. A video link will also be made available on the website a few days after the event.

Parking
Parking is free and is directed by Campus Police as follows: graduating students, faculty and staff will park on the main campus; family and guest parking will be at the DJP Convocation Center. Secondary family and guest parking will also be available on the main campus with free shuttle service available before and after the ceremony with designated stops at Crockett Hall, McCraray Hall, Greear Gym, and the main upper campus lot.

A limited number of accessible spaces are available at the DJP Convocation Center for individuals with a DMV-issued tag or plate. There is also an accessible drop-off across from the Humphreys Field House.

Pets
For the safety of everyone attending Commencement, no pets, other than service dogs, are permitted in the DJP Convocation Center. For questions, contact the Office of Disability Services at disability@uvawise.edu.

Photography
UVA Wise has contracted with Grad Images to provide professional graduation photos of each student. A photo proof and order form will be emailed to graduates after Commencement. For more information, visit GradImages or call 1-800-261-2576.

Programs
Commencement programs will be provided for all families and guests upon entrance to the DJP Convocation Center. Graduating students will also receive a copy during the ceremony.

Tickets
Tickets are not required for Commencement. Guest seating is on a first-come, first-serve basis.

Weather
In the event of severe weather that appears likely to impact the ceremony, regular updates will be provided to graduating students and employees via email. Any updates or changes will also be available on this website and on College social media.
