Call for Participation

Child welfare practitioners with one or more years of experience are invited to complete The Cultures of Child Protection (CCP) National Child Welfare Questionnaire or schedule an in-depth interview with a member of the CCP Research Team. Input across all disciplinary professions within child welfare are needed; thus, in addition to practitioners directly involved in child protective services, we are recruiting child-focused human services such as case managers, mental health and medical providers, law enforcement and the courts including advocates such as CASA and guardians ad litem, teachers and school personnel, and shelter or crisis services among any other persons who work to support the safety and well-being of children. This research is being conducted through a research collaboration between UVA Wise and Western Kentucky University's LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research.

This IRB Approved study is being conducted through a research collaboration between The University of Virginia's College at Wise and Western Kentucky University's LifeSkills Center for Child Welfare Education and Research.

Eligibility and Sign Up:
This research is a national child welfare study focusing on the cultures and experiences of trained professionals who have worked in child protection for one year or longer.
Professionals can participate in three ways:

1. Sign up to do an interview with a member of the Research Team by contacting Christa Moore.
2. Scan the QR code to complete an anonymous child welfare practitioner questionnaire.
3. Join our breakout session at the 2026 Title IV-E Waiver Roundtable Conference at the University of Denver Colorado, May 19-21.
