Adjunct Professor of Clinical Psychology

Noah Anderson received his B.S. in Psychology from UVA Wise, and M.A. in Psychology, Clinical Track From East Tennessee State University. He is currently a Ph.D. candidate in Clinical Psychology at East Tennessee State University. His training has emphasized integrated behavioral health in rural communities and includes diverse clinical experiences across primary care, community mental health, university counseling, specialty addiction, and Veterans Affairs neuropsychology services.

Noah's interests center on understanding the psychological processes underlying behavior change and how identity, beliefs, and social context influence rural mental health. His current research focuses on Appalachian health, psychometrics, addiction theory, and the experiences of individuals harmed by another person’s addiction.

He views teaching as a dual opportunity to encourage intellectual enthusiasm for psychology and as a way to support students in exploring their own academic and/or professional interests. Drawing on his clinical knowledge, he incorporates real-world case examples, technical demonstrations, and applied discussions to help students connect theory, research, and practice. His goal is to make coursework relevant to students pursuing graduate training in clinical and helping professions, as well as those preparing to enter the workforce after completing their undergraduate degree.
