Academic Affairs Undergraduate Research Travel Funding Request

The Office of Academic Affairs and the Undergraduate Research and Creative Activities Committee are pleased to support research and creative activities for students to engage in experiential learning opportunities. Undergraduate Research Travel Funds can cover travel costs to conferences or project sites, registration fees associated with attendance, and travel meals.

Requests will be considered on a rolling basis, and funds will be distributed while funding is available. Students may apply for up to $800 per academic year.

Students must submit requests themselves after consultation with a faculty mentor sponsor. While requests will be processed on a rolling basis, each student and their mentor should plan to submit requests well ahead of any planned travel.

Submission will be considered on a case-by-case basis and as the semester allotment allows. Students and mentors should not automatically expect to receive the full amount outlined above.

If selected to receive funding, you will be expected to complete the following upon returning from the event:

  1. Photo documentation of attendance
  2. Submission of one page reflection describing how the event impacted your career and educational pursuits.

Both items must be submitted to the director of undergraduate research within two weeks of returning to the college to avoid forfeiture of funding.

Please complete the following form to request funding. Incomplete applications will not be considered.

For questions about this form or funding requests related to it, contact Luke Messer, Director of Undergraduate Research.
