Accredited by the Computing Accreditation Commission of ABET, UVA Wise’s software engineering program is the only four-year, undergraduate degree in software engineering offered in Virginia. This major allows students to gain experience while working through a plethora of paid internships. It offers exceptional academics and out-of-class experiences in not only software engineering but cybersecurity. And, many students studying software engineering or computer science at UVA Wise participate in the Lovelace Society, which honors the first programmer, Ava Lovelace, and advances the study of computer science and related areas of study.
