When is Move-In Weekend?

We are excited to soon welcome you to campus! 

First-year and/or transfer students:

Move-in will be held on Friday, August 16 between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. There is no need to make an appointment. 

First Year/Transfer Students can check in at the following buildings:

  • Culbertson, McCraray, and Still Halls - Check in at Still Hall Lobby
  • Martha Randolph Hall - Check in at Henson Hall Lobby

Returning students:

Move-in will be held Sunday, August 18 between 9:00 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. There is no need to make an appointment.

Returning Students can check in at the following buildings:

  • Culbertson, McCraray, and Still Halls – Check in at Culbertson Lobby
  • Asbury, Thompson, Henson, and Martha Randolph Halls - Check in at Henson Hall Lobby

*Late arrivals can check in at the Student Affairs Office located on the first floor of Cantrell Hall on Monday, August 19 between 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.

What should I bring?

Consult the Guide to Campus Living and the Housing Agreement for policies and procedures, as well as approved and prohibited items, room dimensions, etc.  See the additional suggestions noted below.

Basic Necessities

Consider packing the following...be sure to check with your roommate to avoid duplicating what you bring.

  • Seasonally appropriate clothing
  • Sheets (twin, long)
  • Raincoat or umbrella
  • Clothes hangers
  • Toiletries
  • Blanket and pillow
  • Cleaning supplies
  • Storage containers
  • Laptop or tablet

Allowed Appliances

  • Refrigerator (may not exceed 4 cubic feet)
  • Microwave (may not exceed 800 watts)
  • Power strip with reset button (no extension cords)
  • Coffee pot
  • Iron
  • Lamp
  • Floor fan
  • Vacuum cleaner
  • Electric razor
  • Television
  • Crockpot
  • Hair dryer
  • Toaster

Where can I park?

Follow the directions of Campus Police when you arrive for Move-In Day. Students and families should unload belongings and then move vehicles to the appropriate parking areas at Greear Gymnasium (for visitors) or the designated lots (for students).
