Jimson Weed is an annual literary and art journal of the Department of Language and Literature at the University of Virginia’s College at Wise. The Jimson Weed publishes poetry, drama, prose, and original art, including paintings and photography. Jimson Weed has been publishing steadily for over 26 years, so if pizza and poetry interest you, come see what we’re about!

October 2nd will be the first opportunity to converse with the editorial staff about all things Jimson Weed before submissions close on October 30th. Pizza and drinks will be provided, so only bring yourself! There is no requirement to join or submit! First and foremost, we want to create a safe space for creating and discussing poetry, stories, nonfiction, or any other medium that can be encapsulated in the pages of the issue.

The current staff will be ready to answer any questions of yours and discuss additional meetings as well — casual poetry/prose discussion nights, open-mic readings, and all things in between. Any and all are encouraged to attend to be a part of the future of Jimson Weed!
