At UVA Wise, our exercise science program of study is centered around student-centered and project-based learning. Class assignments include real-world application and have empowered students to develop business plans for their own health and wellness-related businesses, create reports as if they were owners of a stock car in the Daytona 500 NASCAR race, and organize and teach physical activity lessons in local high schools. They've also interned in with the College's athletic training staff, at nearby Norton Community Hospital, at prestigious golf courses in Bristol, Va., and with the Kingsport Mets minor league baseball team.
This major is ideal for kickstarting your career in personal training, strength and conditioning, sports-based rehabilitation, and clinical research. It will also prepare you to pursue prestigious graduate programs in human performance, education, and more.
