More than 300 students crossed the stage, receiving their diplomas and stepping into the next chapter of their lives. Seven officers were commissioned through the College’s ROTC program and 37 graduate students received their Master of Education degree.

Cunliffe, a mathematics major with a concentration in data science and a minor in exercise science, was selected for her exemplary research accomplishments and dedication to academic excellence throughout her undergraduate career.

Erickson has served in several leadership roles within the program, from public affairs officer to battalion executive officer, and will cap off her time with one final role: student speaker at Commencement.

As the two-week Governor’s School program at UVA Wise winds down, the excitement has yet to slow.

Open to students in grades 5-12, Exploring Healthcare Careers will provide attendees with hands-on insight into healthcare career paths, as well as opportunities to meet school recruiters and learn about financial aid and program requirements.

Heather Askea, STREAM Outreach Coordinator for UVA Wise was recently awarded the Leader of the Year Award for 2024 by Virginia Society for Technology and Education.

UVA Wise hospitality and tourism students dove into the world of high-end hospitality and event management at Nicewonder Farms.

The 572 students named to the Dean’s List earned a grade point average of 3.5 or higher on a 4.0 scale in the current semester and were enrolled in at least 12 undergraduate credit hours.

Workshops were conducted by volunteers from state-wide agencies as well as the faculty, staff and students from UVA Wise.

UVA Wise announced this week that it will now serve families who earn $80,000 or less through the Within Reach program, which provides tuition and fees for Virginia students.

Through a campus-wide effort to push the digital learning envelope further, the College has developed a culture of innovation, which has resulted in UVA Wise being named an Apple Distinguished School (2024-2027) for a second consecutive term.

UVA Wise welcomed the class of 2028, the most diverse class in the last decade.

Four undergraduate students at UVA Wise took a novel approach using applied DNA techniques to study the dietary preferences of freshwater mussels in the Clinch River, resulting in significant new findings published recently in a major journal.
